reverse psychology from my good friend @dyl.dylan.dylon who is in fact the real boss on this session. When a friend hands you a mug that says "world's best boss" he might be insinuating that you are in fact not the boss. In other news this session is very fun. 🤘
Studio upgrade... I wish I could buy all the gear, all of it, but I'm learning to be a tactful engineer with the tools I have at my disposal. However, I've been getting a lot of requests for more analogue sound/tones, and without getting too in the weeds and getting outside the convenience of digital workflow. I've added this beauty, SSL Fusion. Some good old fashion SSL color that I miss from working on the 9000j at the Tracking Room Nashville. Smooth color and some bells and whistles to help craft the 2 Bus. I'm slow and tactful to add new equipment, because I get cozy with what I have, whether it's enough or not. But I feel very comfy on this already. Clean conversion on the @antelope_audio and some color/warmth of the @solidstatelogic is a very cool combo.
What I love about the driftless is great people and great spaces, whether indoors or outdoors. Little sneak peak at a remote recording session with some lovely people I am fond of. Stay tuned... if you know this collection of people, you'll know what to expect 🤘
Oh buddy, festival season in the Driftless is coming on strong. Oktoberfest grounds for @betweenthebluffsofficial fest last weekend. Or the weekend before 🤔 Times moving quick, folks. It's why I'm so behind on posting.
One of the great honors of my life is to travel out to see and support my brother @wordsmithmusic by providing production for various events he speaks and performs at. This week I'm in Baltimore watching him speak on his passion and reverence for Black History and positively pushing the future of Black culture. It's always inspiring and enlightening being a small part of his entertainment orbit. 🤘 Look em up. ✌️
